OIL’S VARIOUS SCHEMES UNDER CSR (CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY)

Education schemes

1. Project oil super 30. : Started in July 2010. 11-month free residential coaching for entrance exam for admission in IITs and other reputed engineering colleges. Students from the backward sections of the society hailing from Assam & Arunachal Pradesh are imparted free residential coaching in preparing for the JEE Mains, Advance & other Engineering entrance examinations. Till date more than 200 students are being placed in various reputed institutions.
2. Dikhya : started in 2012. Aims at promoting computer literacy and adult literacy in OPERATIONS area.Other programs under project Dikhya include knowledge- yan(K-yan) with K- class, primary school teacher training, life skill education and financial literacy etc. Since 2012-13, more than 12265 students of computer classes and more than 2700 adults under adult literacy are benefitted.
3. Oil sikshaRatnapuraskar : Beginning from 2012-13. Given to provincialized schools and colleges teacher across the Assam. The awards include Rs. 2 lakh and silver citation. In education sector, projects like “OIL Awards & Merit Scholarships” and “OIL Shikshya Ratna Puraskar” has been recognizing the achievements of meritorious students and teachers. and since 2013, 11 teachers were given the prestigious award.
4. Oil awards and merit scholarship : Given to 10^th and 12^thpassing students. Since, 1997, OIL has awarded Merit scholarships to more than 12,000 students.
5. General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) training courses : Established in 1991, the “OIL Nursing School” in Oil India Hospital Duliajan conducts 3 years General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) training courses which is recognized by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Assam. More than 200 girls from modest backgrounds have successfully passed out from the institute and are gainfully employed in various health institutions across the State of Assam.
